I want a coke
I'm broke!
Ma mamma say
Don't let me catch you
  rippin' and runnin'
Draggin' the street,
  Do' poppin'
Or
Dancin' on a dime
Or
Full of wine!
I say,
I'm feelin' fine
One mo' time!
But if I walk ma
  mamma's chalkline
I can't bazah!

Ahh ... the 7th Ward memories are still here ...

An Introduction by Dr. Darrlyn A. Smith
When I grew up in the Seventh Ward. Life was easy. It wasn't hard. It was a different place and a different time. With different people through different seasons. There were good times. Even though some were plain. And I'd happily dance down those roads again!

Although no longer with us (though she is in Spirit!), our dearest Darrlyn has written a treasure of wonderful poems, stories, rhythms, and brings us back to the good times for all who lived through and loved "the culture" of the Seventh Ward.
